Waxworms are a particularly nutritious and energy-rich feeder insect that is readily accepted by many reptiles, amphibians, birds, and fish. Due to their high fat and protein content, they are ideal as a supplementary food, for improving condition, or as a special treat.
In terrariums, waxworms are particularly valued for animals that are reluctant to eat or weakened, as they trigger a strong feeding response. They are also an extremely popular bait in angling, especially for trout, perch, and other coarse fish.
The maggots are fresh, vital, and of high quality. Due to their high energy content, they should be fed sparingly and selectively.
Storage tip:
Bee larvae can be stored in a cool place for several weeks and remain usable for a long time.
