Pinky maggots are the larvae of the green bottle fly ( Lucilia caesar ) and represent a high-quality, protein-rich food source for numerous insectivores. Due to their smaller size compared to flesh fly maggots ( Sarcophaga spp.), they are particularly suitable for smaller reptiles, amphibians, baby lizards, and various invertebrates. Some animal species also prefer the adult flies that hatch from the larvae, which makes pinky maggots interesting for breeding purposes as well.
The feeder insects offered come from the leading European breeder Bugs International and are therefore Made in Germany. Weekly fresh deliveries every Monday morning ensure consistently high quality, vitality, and freshness.
Thanks to their balanced fat and protein content, pinky maggots are an ideal supplementary food that stimulates the natural hunting and feeding instincts. In terrariums, they are also valued for animals that are reluctant to eat or weakened, as they reliably trigger a feeding response.
Furthermore, pinky maggots are widely used in angling, where they are employed as a very attractive live bait for numerous fish species.
